Hi guys,

I just finished my turkey gun (actually a squirrel gun) kit from sitting fox, and I want to, as a fun accent, attach my last turkey beard to it as a tassel.

No idea how to do that.

Can’t be uncommon, so, any experience you can share?

Thanks!

My only idea is to drill and tap the plate under the butt plate and thread on a sling swivel as a mount point, but i don’t like that idea for a couple obvious aethetic reasons. What can I do?

Hang it from the trigger guard.

IIRC, the tassel is supposed to be used as a wind gauge, so I would think it best used/visible when hung from the muzzle.

trigger guard or the ramrod thimble.

Thanks! What do you guys find more aesthetically pleasing, forward thimble or the trigger guard?

Given that my barrel is 42" long - definitely the foreward thimble.

why not stick it where you think it'll both look and maybe function best for .... you?

If it is a hunting rifle your also going to put movement on the front of the rifle directing attention to you and the rifle. I would not want anything to give me away.
