Just for clarification, there can be estimates made of the values of these firearms, but no offers to buy or sell, which would be in violation of forum rules.

Hope this helps.

its all for fun.... these guns are part of a friends estate I may try to get my hands on one of them but that's about it . I look at the prices in flayderman's and those numbers don't seem real. Who knows I could hit the jackpot lottery and buy them all...which I would

What I have found in my area is, The prices at the gun show reflects GunBrokers .............Dumb as hell but ..........The really nice guns have the greatest value!
The shooters should follow a shooters value not the really nice guns !!! It's all what the Market will bear !
If it was my friend and he had these guns .I would only make a offer to the family for what I could justifie and let the family say ya or na If they say YA
then your friends gun will live on with you !!!

Set triggers, takedown, butt trap (with/without original cleaning rod), case colored or blued, type of sights, bore condition all have great influence on price.

The '76 and '86 rifles you show might be worth a little more.

GOOD EVENING
And who owned it... Any documented history.
But they are only worth what the high bid is.
Also remember there are some folks with well lined pockets that are looking for "bragging" rights at big shows and collectors groups who want to take home the trophy. They drop 50k for a corner store car. So 20k for a 1864 Henry carried by some Color Guard is no issue.

Because of special order features, caliber and condition, a Winchester might be worth $3,000 or twice that. You see that "ballparking" a value is not really doable.

Recently a Henry rifle was sold via the Rock Island Auction. Since it had been refinished and had replacement sights it was only a "shooter" , not of any real collectors value. The refinish and sights were done by Winchester, but it was still altered so therefore not a unique or rare specimen of any collectible category. So it only went for $20,000.

I will never own one.

i went to a gun auction last nite. i was looking at a argentine m1891 mauser in 7.65x53mm to buy. the gun looked like it should've have been, old but not quite decrypted, the bore was (on scale of 1 - 10, i'd say 6 or 7) fine and the serial # were the same. i figure that it should go at at least $125-150, the most it should go for was $200-225. before i even held my hand up, there was a voice that said "$350". i was in shock, then i heard "400"! i just shake my head, somebody is about to be burned. the two guys went ahead till one of them got $850, then the gavel went down and the guy(he said 850) was more than happy to buy his flaming piece of s....ah poop.

The best source of reality is "prices realized" booklets that come out after every auction.

Even those are suspect as some auction houses use shills in the room to run up prices. If the shill wins, the gun is put away for a few months and then reappears for sale.

The old gun market is much softer than it was a decade ago. Simple reason, the people who knew and loved those guns are passing away. "Utes" don't get it and only want black guns and hi cap semi handguns.

Best way to follow real auctions is PROXIBID.COM. Almost all big auctions are now online so you can follow and bid in real time. I've bought some items that you'ld never see, even at the Tulsa show, not to mention any gun shop.
