I have accumulated a large number of .22-250 cases with split necks over the years.I was wondering if the otherwise ruined brass might be used to form cases for the shorter .22 B R chambering by trimming the case and running it into a form die and neck reaming. Would the case walls of the more tapered 250 brass expand to conform to the chamber in an even manner?

You may need to do several things. 1) trim the cracked neck shoulder off or the crack may travel. 2) Anneal the brass cracked for a reason annealing may help it as its hard now. 3) the other I believe is 22 br is small primer and 22-250 is large primer this may affect data some but starting low and working up should allow for that. Or pockets could be sleeved down to small pocket size. I would also recommend sectioning a couple cases to see what the case head area looks like as to the stretch lime where head seperations occur. If the necks are cracking head seperations may not be far behind.
