I picked up a small bunch of barrels in a lot and trying to figure out what to do with some of them. Biggest question mark is a 16" Bellm in 6mmx223. I haven't found much info on this one. Sounds good, I have a few 6mm molds but not sure about the rest of the reloading issues for this one. Anyone have experience with this round? I'd like some thoughts on forming cases, die availability, etc.

Do you use this as a long handgun or short rifle?

You will find the 6x223 a great round in the 16" barrel. My grandkids love to shoot steel at 100 yards with them.

The 6x45 is essentially the same as the 6mm TCU. I have a TC factory barrel that is 14" and very accurate. Must be the easiest wildcat cartridge to form. I am not 100% sure that the TCU dies will work, so I hope your barrel came with reloading dies. Sierra used to make a bullet specifically for hunting medium game with this cartridge. You can still find boxes of them from time to time in old gun shops.

If I keep it, I'll probably just shoot cast in it. I have the Lyman 245496 and RCBS 243-095-SP molds. Plenty of dies online but another added expense.

Is case a 223 necked up to 6mm? if so, this may be a 6mm TCU. If 6mm case necked down to 224, maybe the barrel maker can help. The 6MM TCU is a wildcat, but load data is available. I have the 7MM TCU. It is a powerful hand gun round.

It's a .223 necked up to .243. I have a 7mm TCU too (10").

I'd Give Mr. Bellm a call. He is extremely helpful and shares his knowledge pretty freely. He can easily make the dies you need as well. He can give you trim lengths, or any other info you need.

No problem finding the dies, they're more available than I realized. After some more googling, no issues making the brass either and I have a ton of .223 brass.
