So, I drop into a local gun shop to pick up a pound of H322. I decided I'd peruse the guns first so I wouldn't be carrying a sack around. I stumbled across a used 6" Model 629 (no dash). Now I already own a 6" 629, but this one is a no dash, pinned barrel, recessed cylinder version.
I told the guy whom I was working with I really didn't need another version of a"29" since I have several versions. I've known him for 36 years, he KNEW I wanted it and pulled it from the case & held it for me until my return. I "notified" my wife as to my obvious desires (regarding the gun anyways) and I received her blessing. Actually she said I should have bought it while I was there. So $738.00 (plus tax) later I walked out with another 629. No box or papers but came with a Bianchi #10L holster, inside a Koplin gun rug. Without further adieu..

The top strap has no flame cutting, The front of the cylinder has no forcing cone marks, crane locks up tight, nice tight cylinder gap, timing is perfect. I don't think it was ever fired beyond the factory.
I took it for a test drive today, used my usual plinking load (works in all of my 29's) 45' distance. After a little sight adjustment, things came around.

I think I'm keeping this one.
Oh and since it likes the 429421, I may break-in a Lyman 4 cavity I have of this boolit. It should cast the mostest, perfectest
boolits (check out who inspected the mold)

Just wanted to share my "found a nut" story
