Converted a few 50/70 cases to fit my 12.7x44R Carl G. Swedish rolling block. Looking at the Lyman Cast Boolit Book #4, they show a 50/70 load of 24.0 grains of IMR4198 behind a 515 grain boolit. Shows pressure of 14.5K which should be well under the old RB's limit. Just wondering if anyone had tried that load in their rolling block?? Thanks!

Just an FYI, I've seen net refrences to using Unique and 5744 in these rifles, but have not been able to find anything on 4198.

In my 12.7 x 44 Huskvarna I currently use 28 grains of H 4198 and a 386 grain .500 diameter soft cast bullet paper patched to .508 lubed with bore butter. It will shoot as good as I can hold and the cases will fall out of the chamber.

Thanks elk hunter, now I'm a little less nervous about shooting smokeless in this thing!
