So I've got about 20-30 cars sitting in my Grams back field and I want to pull the WW off all of them. What is the best method? can i just take a pair of pliers and remove them that way or is there another way.

There is a tool made for that purpose, but a screwdriver to lift them and a plier to grab them should do the trick.

What kind of cars does Gram have? Might sell one and use that money to buy lead :)

The market for restoreable cars is hot

12 inch channel lock pliers make a fair approximation of the purpose designed tool.

Where do you get the WW pliers at? I always just wait until 3 in the morning and go to all the truckstops and get the WW off of the parked bigrigs....Do any of you guys know how hard it is to run from a bunch of angry truckers carrying a bucket of wheelweights?

Hell no. You can used the defence that you were removing a potential harmful environmental hazard BEFORE it had to the chance to be liberated. Really, you are doing the world a favour!!!! At least all our lead is accounted for in berms.

My wife brought in almost a pound of weights last time she went to Wally World, didn't ask how she got them.[smilie=1:

Most auto supply stores sell a simple little tool for removing WW's for a couple of bucks.

well half the cars up there aren't even hers, but I'm still going to pull all the WWs off of them. I've never liked the mechanic who's junk cars are up there and the second the house is my Old mans all he mechanics cars will be have to be moved in 48 hours or we're going to pull them out and shoot them all, just like what we did with an old Subaru.

My only tip for removing a WW from a car wheel is to wait untill the car is no longer in motion, don't ask how I know.

Keep an eye out for Volvo Estates, some of them (ambulance hearse, delivery van versions of 140 and 240 series) have around 150pounds of pure lead fixed under their front wings.

might collect some lead you can't use that way!

Doggonit, too bad my scanner's not working. :/
I made a WW puller out of some slip-joint pliers.
All there was to it was grinding one face down until there's a round
stud, with the grooves still on its tip, where a plier-jaw used to be.

I ground off the big aggressive looking teeth behind the faces and
use that part to mash the spring back down.

Uh... I use wheel weights for "weighting" wheels.
I'm leaving the rest for you guys? ;)
