I'm looking for 4 or 5 .458-.459 factory made cast bullets to try in my smokeless ML. My barrel is a TC Custom Shop 45-70 that I have converted to a SML.I would like to try shooting full bore cast 350 grain bullets with a wide meplat. If someone has an extra 4 or 5 I would pay postage. Just don't want to buy 200 bullets only to find they don't work.

Why factory made?

If I find one that will work I'll buy some. I don't cast my own.

Bigiron,

To load a full-bore conical in a .45-70 barrel, you may need a .450-.451 diameter bullet. Most .45-70 barrels are bored .450/lands and .458/grooves. The bullet needs to be slightly LESS than land diameter in order to load from the muzzle. Also, it should be relatively soft in order to upset sufficiently to take the rifling upon firing. You might try Beartooth Bullets: http://www.beartoothbullets.com/bulletselect/index.htm
They make a lot of different sized .45 caliber bullets that might fit your need. You could talk to them about getting some samples and about bullet hardness for a muzzle loader.

Why not try Buffalo Arms? Most of their packages are 20 or 50 bullets at those sizes. They also have nice PP bullets.
