found this at a local thrift shop. dinged up and heavy looks like a water or cream pitcher. double walled maybe insulated.
Any idea what the alloy might be.

What does silver soldered mean?

The handle and spout are soldered on with silver solder? It is much stronger than lead/tin solder and used to solder SxS shotgun barrels together.

so is it pewter ? If its still there which it should be I will snag it and melt it

You cannot silver solder on to pewter because the difference in melting temperature is about 600+ degrees. Pewter melts around 530 degrees and silver solder is around ( pending exact alloy) 1400 degrees. Therefore the pitcher must not be pewter. More likely tinned copper.
