well here I thought I had this figured out
after 2 Ultra Dots trashed I broke down and bought
a pistola scope-ola that was just days before our general
firearms season opened up
got her sighted in and carried up until yesterday when I
noticed the rear lenses of the scope had fractures on the
outer edges
I was convinced my 89.00 scope was up to the task but no.....
well now I am going to put on a leupold and see if that is up
to the task with the 475 Encore :killingpc

you killed 2 red dots, so you figured a budget scope would get it done? LOL

I was never a fan of Bushnell, however, I've found their better product lines to be very serviceable and have bought a few over the years and have been pleased.

I've got a Bushnell 3500 on a 41 Mag lever, A bushnell 3500 Target on an AR and a Bushnell 6500 on my Kimber 308. The 6500 is a magnificent scope. I used to buy all Leupold and Have had other nice scopes but have been satisfied with my mid level Bushnell scopes for their intended service.

My pistol scopes are weaver and Burris. If I had a heavy hitter like the Linebaugh I'd personally opt for the leupold

yeah apparently the quality is the same
the scope lasted longer
put on a 4x Leupold to replace it hopefully that will work

I have a friend who is a die hard made in America supporter. USA or nothing else if a product is made here. He went through 3 Leopold and a Burris before trying a Simmons at the request of a friend. It is still going on his 454.

When the new Simmons "Master Series" scopes came out, John Barsness did an article on them. He found that the scope held zero perfectly on his lightweight .338 WM, although the optics obviously weren't as good as more expensive scopes. I wish Bushnell would make an Elite 1-5x20, as of right now Leupold is the only choice for this type of scope. I would buy one or three like yesterday.

if you have to scope it go with a 2x leupold. Not much any tougher.

yeah I hate to put a scope on but after two disasters with Ultra Dot
I didn't have much choice especially with the deer season closing in
on me I have one more chance to get a deer with it this year so with
any luck it will happen
