AR stripper

I'm building another AR and want something a bit different, so I ordered a side charging upper and would like to strip the black off it and polish it then powder coat it with a highly translucent color. So how can I strip the black off? I have a blast cabinet should I just get some glass beads or use a chemical?

Anodized surfaces can be hard and act as a wear surface. Some that we used on gages was a 70-72 Rockwell rating. Its hard enough to be scratch and abrasion resistant. I don't think youwill keep the sharp corners and edges blasting it or the crisp lettering. Same with most chemical means or removing it. It may be better to coat over it if possible. After the chemical removal it may require some polishing. I'm not sure really the best way to remove it but thought Id give some back ground on it.

Don't strip the inside of the receiver!!!! IT IS HARD ANODIZED FOR WEAR RESISTENCE !!!

You really don't even need to strip the outside as PC will stick just fine to the anodized surface.

Yep, DON'T strip, just PC or coat over the anodizing.
