Need help here with cast load data for my Remington/Baikal Spartan Izh18MH 7.62 x 39 single shot. Apparently I could find a bit of info in the 4th edition of the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook. I have the 3rd edition.
If anyone owns a copy of this 4th edition, is there really info about this caliber in it and if so, is there any load data for cast bullet of around 160gr ?
Thanks

What kind of load are you looking for? There's quite a bit of data for for Lee's 155 and 160 gr bullets. One they don't list though is my favorite for the Lee 155 and a GB 160 gr mould. That's with H4895. I use 27 gr which is about 100% load density and a CCI200 primer in W-W or IMI cases in my Mini MK X Mauser. That load has also proven very accurate in other single shot/bolt action rifles. Runs 1850 +/- fps out of 20" barrels.

I haven't seen the article in a long time, but there is extensive 7.62x39 cast bullet data in HANDLOADER #177, October '95 using bullet weights from around 150 or 160 grains to over 200 grains. Loads were worked up in a couple of Ruger bolt-actions.

I also used 27gr. of 4895 with 160gr. cast without much success. Where did you find ' quite a bit of data for for Lee's 155 and 160 gr bullets' ?
