Used to be the only place I would go on Black Friday was cabelas for some ammo deals. This year I saw their add for UMC ammo and thought. Meh. I can still cast and load it for less. I’m sleeping in.

Quality time with the new baby it is. PANCAKES!!

I'm sitting in my blind. So far, haven't seen anything but birds. Did see and hear a flock of geese, about 75 of them. To me, that is music.

They are probably heading my way! There are 1000's and 1000's around here right now. They can really damage a Wheat crop! It is cool to watch the "V" formation in flight and to watch the vortex they make when landing in a field.

I don't remember the last time I went out on Black Friday. Online ordering is a lot easier and it shows up at my door. Retailers have had sales all week. I see no reason to go out at crazy early hours for "deals".

Yer baby's name is Pancakes? Cool name! I haven't been out on "black Friday" in a bunch of years and I think I'm gonna load up some more "just in case" ammo today...

'Black Friday' is only black for those who get out and participate in all that madness!

For the rest of us...it's just Friday...ie. 'TGIF'!

I wonder why Big Al and Rev Jessie haven't protested "black" Friday?

I am proud to say never in my life have I Black Friday shopped. Good choice picking the kid over sales. I have been sitting here watching my 18 month old twins play and wrestle for the past 3 hours. They are going to take a serious nap this afternoon. Maybe I will join them.

I got in a long nap this afternoon. It was unusually warm today but I had no desire to insert myself into the madness that is black Friday here.

We actually went to Sportsman Ski Haus to buy the grandkids a Fiberglas Bow and Arrows for $6.00 each, and then on to Cabellas where the wife picked up a great sale on Down Jacket and Wool watch cap for one of the sons, to be mailed as a Christmas Gift. After that; followed Tazman's example and took a nap. I find it incomprehensible those who will camp out in front of stores to be in the first bunch to get into the Stores on "Black Friday" morning openings. Funny, many of them are the same people you would have trouble getting up in the morning to get to work on time.

QT with your baby trumps all, especially black friday. But with good protective gear he could become the first boolit caster in the under 1 year old category, what a great deal; casting with little Pancakes and sitting out black friday! Say, how did you pick that name? My son's name is Unique but I think the origin of that is obvious.[smilie=l:

I spent the most of the day with my grandson, 3 but thinks he is 6 or 7. My son brought him at 7 and he lay on my shoulder and slept til 8. that was the best
hour of the day. I haven't been off the place all day and for that I am thankful.

Haha... his name is not pancakes... but that is AWESOME idea for a name. He has a unique name for the US, but not for our Scottish ancestry... ;). We were eating pancakes haha, pic didn't show the stack he smashed before i got a chance to take it

The only times I have been out for "black Friday" was 1993 and 1994. Our first grand child's 1st & 2nd Christmas's. She was a real handfull. She must have worn me out. My wife and daughters have done black friday since. But that one wore me out. I haven't done that since. The 2 grand sons got whatever their grandmom wanted to get them. The 2 great grandsons get their Mom some money to get what they want.

I hope everyone here was able to enjoy.

We have never been onto the Black Friday thing around here. Cyber Monday from the comfort of home is a different matter. We spent yesterday at a local state park with my mom. A picnic on the lake shore and a walk through the woods are much more relaxing than fighting crowds of crazy people after Thanksgiving day.

I went out, had to hit Menards. I’m in the process of getting a shop built and 22’x15” R15 insulation at $8.99 with a $5 rebate, I had to jump on that deal! I hadn’t realized how expensive insulation had become.

I hit Cabela's about 5:30 in the afternoon, it was pretty calm by then, they have Hornady on sale and their in store price is cheapest to begin with on bulk .308FMJ bullets for my Garand, I'm stocked up on FMJ 30-06 for a few weeks now! (as soon as I assemble it)[smilie=1:
Them pancakes look finger lick'n good!

Unless your up on prices and what is actually going to be on sale its a waste of time.
Some of my friends go and just grab stuff only to find out the discounts are not there.
I was flooded with pre black friday deals on line.
Only one purchase. I wanted a auto powder measure.
Went with lyman gen6 $170 free ship from midway.
I think that sale goes through until monday.
Same with small business saturday. Sadly theres not to many small business around me that have what i want.

I shot a couple 38's after lunch and the backs of my fingers got black from smoke. Does that count?

Watched the crowd outside (in the cold) at Wally World on the first local Black Friday, many years ago. We changed our mind and went next door to IHop. There's no way I'd spend my time in that mess. Only a few of each item and hundreds wanting them. Folks screaming and pushing, getting trampled, for what?
Since that one experience, I just watch the madness on TV and chuckle. I'm too old and smart to get caught up in the hype.

Ummm. . .yeah. . .Christmas shopping. . .

I always figured that the eight rounds in a Garand clip corresponded directly to the number of tiny reindeer, and that the "PING!" was all the holiday music I'd ever need.

I don't go out on Black Friday, but made the mistake of trying to buy something in Walmart that we really needed last Black Friday... big mistake! The lines that stretched from the front to the back of the store made it almost impossible to move around. Even the self checkout was totally jammed up. I'm not claustrophobic but I was that day!

I got the heck out of there and found a small store that didn't celebrate Black Friday.

first time for me going out on blackfriday. although it was 1:00 PM, and it was Rogers Lures in Liberty MO. We were at the inlaws, hunted the morning (12 year old son killed a nice 8 point, his first big one), he needed bigger hunting cloths. Had some good deals. Got my first trail cam, he got a new set of hunting cloths. Good time spent with my son.
