We live thousands of miles from ocean here in North Dakota. But I am a seafood junky. I think I get it from my mom who was born in New Orleans.

Costco has Dungeness crabs, precooked, frozen. Just need to be popped into boiling water long enough to thaw and warm them.

My wife and I have learned to set up stools in the kitchen, have a cracking party there where it is easier to clean up. Meat goes into a glass bowl with melted butter and a dash of granulated garlic.

Toss every so often so the butter gets on each piece.

Then when the work is done 30 seconds in the microwave, some good french bread, a salad, and a bowl full of crab you can just eat and not starve to death while eating it.

Life is good. I mostly eat mine straight up with the butter and garlic for flavor. Lots of meat packed in those guys.

I would LOVE to have the chance to go out and run pots for Dungeness crab. Then come back and cook and enjoy them really fresh. Fresh is always better.

OP you are a lucky man. Enjoy it.
