New ppu brass not clean, has brass dust/grit and can ruin dies.

You should tumble and debur before using to be on the safe side.

A friend scratched up 2 dies before he figured it out

I was an early adopter of Starline brass and am a big fan to this day. There is one minor thing I might mention. The brass is SO clean, that when trying to load it on my Dillon, the friction (and effort) is very high. To avoid damaging your brass or equipment the first time you load it, it really needs lubed. Putting it through my tumbler with Dillon’s polish pretty much solves it. Of course, the tumbling media sticks in the primer pockets, and inspection and cleaning of each and every round before you try to load is tedious. You can instead opt to lube your cases as if you were using steel dies and that will solve the problem, too.

After the first time you load it, then everything is back to normal.

FWIW,

I have bought unprimed brass from most of the makers and have found everything from brass dust chips ( probably from the trimming) to burrs in flash holes and primer pockets that are not flat. Any new component is suspect until inspected and or uniformed.

I have seen necks banged up from the bag. Some is oversize. I almost always resize, clean then inspect. Just my habit, learned the hard way once to many times.
Be well
