Shot some .359 soft lead hollow point out of a ruger Blackhawk. Was shooting at old lumber pile and this bullet bounced back after hitting. nail landing by my feet. Load was 6.0 grain of unique. Was standing about 10 yards away. Safety glasses ? Always wear them207645[ATTACH=CONFIG]207646[

Very interesting...I had a .38 SWC bounce back and hit me in the hand once. We were at least 25 yds away, but the back stop had some tires in it...

On another note, I recently did a penetration test with a similar bullet (no gas check) using 4.2gr of Unique in a .38 spl case. Shooting a 2" K-frame from 10-12', it went clean through 4 milk jugs filled with water and buried in the back stop behind. Trajectory was near perfectly straight. The first jug showed pretty good shock, but the rest had a clean hole in and out. Would have loved to have recovered the bullet.

How far in did it drive the nail before it bounced back??

Gives new meaning to nailgun.
I will take a better look at wood and see. Bullet was not moving very fast when it bounced back and landed on ground.

When bowling pin shooting was popular, getting hit by returning bullets happened often.
