I got hold of some copper jacketed .351 bullets that do not have a cannelure. What is the best way to crimp them without cutting a new cannelure in them? Choices....Lee factory roll crimp, standard roll or taper crimp. My guess would be the taper crimp. /Chris

Wow, first one comes up for sale in the S&S forum and now you. What are the odds?

My thought is that the roll crimp would deform the bullet less. By that I mean in only the one area vs. the whole length of the bullet with the taper crimp.

Maybe you could put out the word for someone that has the tool to do you a favor. I would if I had the tool, but alas, I have not.

What about a bit of lacquer on the bullet before seating, is that just plain crazy talk? Just trying to think outside the box.

you taper crimp them.
think about them like a large 30 carbine.

You'll probably be able to use a .357 Mag taper crimp die. When I was playing with the .351, I was able to load using .357 Mag TC dies. The taper crimp is the way to go if in fact this works out./beagle
