I'd like to start shooting some cast .40's or even .358's in my .45 cal ML. Does anybody know of a source for sabot only?

Thanks, 725

Lots of options, appears:

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=muzzleloading+sabots&t=ffnt&ia=web gives:

http://mmpsabots.com/store/tan-sabot/
Cabelas's or Bass Pro Shop maybe? (Both owned by Bass Pro Shop now but not unified yet)
https://www.midwayusa.com/product/582368/harvester-muzzleloading-45-caliber-crushed-rib-sabot-for-40-caliber-bullets-pack-of-50
And many more options. Search engines help :)

I've used 40 caliber bullets in both 45 and 50 caliber muzzleloaders for at least a dozen years using MMP Sabots.

MMP also has Sabots for the 357 bullets as well and although I have experimented with them I have become rather fond of my 40 Caliber bullets.

I like the MMP sabots a lot. They used to make the sabots for all the other outfits as well but that may not be true these days. The MMP blue color sabot is the one that allows shooting 357 or 9mm in the 45 cal. muzzleloader. For some reason, my 45 liked 9mm 125 gr projectiles a lot better that 357 125 gr'ers and was accurate out to 200 yards. The load was 55 gr of 3F Goex.

quilbilly - Thanks. I already placed an order to MMP and am waiting for them to arrive. Maybe today! I want to try my 220 gr. .357 boolit in the .45 cal rifle. I ordered 3 different packs: two for the .45 & one for the .50. Thanks for the load data. Gives me a starting point.
