............Pick your choose:

Thread is now "Un-Stickied" and has been closed to posting. It will now float on down the list into oblivion. Odd to say, but I feel sorry for it after typing that.

Voted for .314." But, I'll be in on this one regardless if the group votes for .312" or .314" diamter. Just glad to get a chance for one of these in a 6 banger. :)

I voted .314 because it seems it might work better in a Marlin Micro Groove, but a .312 would pull $ out of me too.

If the votes for .314 can translate into orders, we are on our way. I need to verify dates with this new system. Might have to wait until after the holidays. So I had a scan of some C309113f made on the OGP (optical cmm) and stuffed the data into cad and with some mods for dia it looks like this. I also made the lube grooves a few thou deeper to allow for sizing. I also came up with a volume of .041192 which in pure lead will be 118.128gr.

I liiiike the idea of deeper lube grooves for us fellas who are going to be sizing it way down for .30/30, etc. I looked in a Marlin catalog the other day and they are listing a new .32/20. May kill 2 birds with one stone with this boolit.

............Ah Jr, just size the thing on down and shoot it! :D That's what everyone else does. Mine drop at .314". I size'm down to .309" for use in the Ruger 30M1, and a 1903A1. A M93 Marlin 30-30 gets sized .310" and a Krag uses .311". I have 2 Argentines that use it at .312", 2 more Argentines and a M91/30 that gets'em basicly as cast, run through a .314" die to apply lube.

Danged if I can see any difference in accuracy, as each shoot it about as well as they shoot anything else. It's darned tough to size a .309" cast boolit UP to .311" :-)

Yep, and it's tough sizing a hard .314" bullet down to .309". Plus you get work-softened bands. I have a 2-hole C309-113-F that drops 'em about .309". Apply LTL, a gascheck, then run 'em through a .309" Lee sizer, then another coat of LTL, and shoot. The sizer barely touches the sides of the bullets so they stay hard. About all the .309" sizer does is set the gascheck. Gimme a 6-holer in C309-113-F, please Mr Lee . . . or somebody.
