Last year was particularly brutal. Looks like more of the same this year.

I would trade you about now. Thunder storms and severe weather warnings, high winds and hail. Not my idea of a good start to november

This winter will be a toughie. Last winter was a taste of what may come over the next four years. Over the last two months there is has been one of the strongest La Nina's developing on the equator in decades of observations (part of what I do for my industry). These systems generally mean a hard winter over all of the NW quarter of the U.S. and drought in the SW. My house is only at 250 ft of elevation but I am putting the xctry ski's out of the barn and on the porch today:grin: . For my industry, the good news is that conditions for growing salmon in the Pacific off the Wa/Ore/BC coast will be very good if the trend holds.

Winter? It was 73 when I got home on Friday. It's cooled off considerably but it's still in the fifties. Last few winters have been mild. I welcome global warming. Want the winters here to be mild w/ no snow. I don't mind driving to go see snow. Don't want it falling at home so I have to shovel it.

Most of the folks that really like snow, drive a wrecker, run a body shop, or drive a snow plow. It's not the snow they like, but the overtime.

It’s going to be a tough one this year. Today it was 75 and mostly sunny, lots of motorcycles on the road. We actually passed on killing some deer because of the warm temperatures.

I miss snow!!

It's over rated. I miss it until the shovels and snow blowers are needed. Last thing I want is to get stranded at an airport due to a snowstorm. I will be traveling through southern airports and avoiding O'Hare and Detroit if possible.

we won't hit 0 until tomorrow night.

the snow didn't hit the valley here until yesterday morning and we ended up with 4-5"s, the next valley over got like 1" and half of it was melted this morning while we still had snow showers going on.
I'm just hoping to see the 40's again for a little while.

Could use that snow over here in this part of the state. We are deer hunting right now & there is a lot of green still left making it harder to see them. A bit of snow for contrast would not hurt us here. All we got was rain showers the last few days...

As far as winter, many of the signs in Nature are there for it being a bit tough around my area this Winter. I expect it to be at least like last year anyway.

Man I hope it's a nasty winter. My snowmobile was used once in 16 and once in 15. In 14 I could have rode every day for 2 months. I hear every one here saying how much they hate snow but I love winter. Nothing like running the sled across a frozen lake at a 100mph with a air temp of 10*f or the first cut on a ski slope. It's pure clean frozen heaven. Just my .02

I love the change of the Minnesota seasons...as long as they (each season) doesn't stick around too long. The snow hasn't stuck to the ground yet, so it's still fall in my little corner of MN, cold this week, but warmer next week. I hope to take out the rest of the garden next week.

9 degrees outside, 18 inches of snow accumulated this week. Still need to dig the last of the potatoes out of the garden next two days.

I guess you can add log truckers to that mix, as we can not smooth the roads up until we get enough snow. lol
Actually here you can add everybody to that mix, snow acts as an insulator and keeps everything from freezing.
We have just got enough to be messy, possibility of some more this week hopefully.
