I"ve had my Ruger BX trigger for bout 6 weeks now, and going from a 5.5lb pull to 2.5 has really been nice.
For the money it was a good upgrade, certainly not on par with the more expensive triggers, but good enough for my uses.

When I went to buy it I had my scale with me,as they can be tested in their special packaging.
the counterman told me,and we proved, the 10-22's are bing shpped with EIGHT plus pound triggers :(

If you've been needing a bit better trigger for well under a hundred bucks, do consider the BX.

Converted my 10/22 to the BX trigger. It was a great improvement. I highly recommend it.

Ruger sells a rifle with an exceedingly heavy trigger pull and then offers a nicer trigger for $75. Why not just make a nice trigger to begin with? I guess I'd go with another manufacturer out of principle.

Has to do with liability and most likely the ability to sell the rifles in California

Installed a BX in my old 10/22 works good, kept the old trigger it is an aluminum body trigger have has this rifle since the early 1970's.

i think rugers average trigger pull for their new guns is about #8!

I bought mine new for local for $59 bucks last year......well worth the money......why doesn't Ruger include it from the factory? They want to squeeze another $60 out of you? It's an incentive to buy there crappy rifle? Idk.....it a good trigger for the money, but I will not every buy another Ruger 10/22 or Ruger anything.......

So you can only buy firearms in CA that have gritty, creepy triggers that break at 5+ pounds? CZ doesn't sell any of their rimfire rifles in CA?

I suspect Ruger is just squeezing some more money from its customers.

This is the reason I forked out $200 on a Kidd trigger group. I'd advise against Kidd, because you'll want on in every 10/22 and Charger you have. Mine is in a Charger and it is fantastic.

The BX is a good trigger group. Also check out Brimstone. For about $35 they will rework your trigger into a thing of beauty. I have found, too, that there is significant overtravel in both triggers, which can be fixed with an 8:32 x 1/4” Allen screw in the back of the trigger guard.

[QUOTE

you are correct, when I bought my BX I had my trigger pull gauge with me to test one,and the counter man and I checked 2 new ones, and all new ones,as he said, are coming in at 8 lbs. !! that stinks ~

no reason to put a decent trigger in the rifles if they think they can sell you a slightly better one at additional cost.

In fact that's just why I didn't buy the BX . My thought was if they didn't do it right the first time why would I think they'd get it right on the second try .

Let’s make a list of all the new 22 semi autos we can get for 275.00 or less with a trigger of 2-3lbs cost of a new 10/22 and BX
I think it will be a short list.

I reworked my 10/22 trigger many years ago with about $80.00 worth of Ron Power and other after market components. Pull is now about a glass breaking 1 lb. pull( no trigger gauge to use ) and no creep, put a little pressure on the trigger and the hammer falls.

Yes!
Same here, same as you.
I installed the BX trigger and MAN!, what a difference.
Actually, the first round I squeezed off surprised me. Compared to the factory setup, this seemed like a Hair Trigger at first.
I love it.
"Go get one...... " Yup-pp!
