Bought this sight unseen.
Was wondering which model rock chucker this is.? I know it is a rock chucker says RC on the side but it has a smooth finish and it it has a regular handle and clipped pins. Made in 81. Has A 10 on the RCBS side. I am not sure if it has been repainted. It is in very good condition. It is tight. I know you guys know much more than me about this things. I just know how to use them.

If memory works correctly I think A12 is the highest casting number I have seen on the first model RC. Your paint looks correct. Clean as it is you made a great catch.

Rock Chuckers are a special press, I learned to load on one back in 68.

Never have owned one, go figure that one out, but always look at one fondly when pictures are posted or I see one for sale at a Gun Show.

Yours is pretty clean wondering if it ever got used?

Looks beautiful, not even any marks from mounting. Clean as a pin. Enjoy! Mine is old and shows its age but is still going strong. Casting number is A7. The adapter boss was painted on mine with the factory paint so I can't see the date.

HeavyMetal, give yourself a treat! It getting to be that time of year.

Need is the driving force here, LOL!

I have Two Dillon 450B'S, TWO CH Auto Champions, Three Lee Pro 1000's, A lee Classic Cast, a Lee Classic Cast Turret ,Three Ponsness Warren 600's, Two Star lube sizer's, assorted casting equipment, a recent purchase of a Magma Case Master Jr. and a Girl Friend in a Two bedroom apartment.

At least I managed to give the small dog back to the youngest daughter, LOL!

So adding a Rock Chucker is a little low on the list of to do's / wants, but some day it may happen.

That is a beauty! Mine was new in 76 or 77. Cast# A3. Mine is the same color but has the crinkle finish. Mine is still used to load all the rifle loads I use. And in truth is all one really needs for any reloading (Except for some of the really big cases, like 50BMG). Back when I had more time than money, I loaded thousands of 06 match loads and hunting loads and thousands of 223 pasture poodle loads, as well as match loads on that machine. My pistol loads were done on a Spartan and later a Spar-t. Many 10s of thousands. That was back when progressives were just becoming affordable to the masses. Still use those presses also. You found a real piece of art and craftmanship!!!

Mine doesn't even have a number on it. I don't know what that means...

It does have a Patent number on the side...

I do know it has been very good to me and Gawd only knows how many rounds it's loaded!!!...

You'll very likely enjoy yours...

Good-luck...BCB

Great find! If you call RCBS and tell them what you have, they will send you an updated handle. Tell them is has the straight handle. I believe it's a pre 1985 or so. The updated handle has a ball and is much easier on the hand while using the press. They will send you one at no charge!

Flashhole, Yes it is a Heavyweight Champion. It is my favorite.

Best thing is that you can't wear these out. Midway has a lnl die bushings set on sale for 9.99. That conversion makes swapping out dies faster.

My curiosity got me so I had to look, my RC casting # is A1 and that is upside down. Great press. RCBS even sent me a new ram for it. They machined it on their CNC equipment. Lady at RCBS asked me to be patient and they would put it in the schedule. I was amazed when it was delivered for free. Thats service.
