had one one my 475 Linebaugh Encore that literally fell apart
I though they were supposed to be so good and I have had ones in the past
and can tell you I have never seen this
the back eye piece looked like it was dropped off a ladder and the
rest of the rear body actually came apart from the main unit
this was supposedly a new unit but wonder if they sent me a re-worked unit
or some sort of demo model :Fire:
all I know is it would never stay tightened in the factory rings and I actually stripped
their mounting screw with the supplied wrench which was not the correct size IMO
and after I replaced the junk scope mounts I checked to see if it was loose again and that is when it
literally fell apart in my hands
bit apprehensive about the replacement they are sending :(

Never had a problem with any I've owned. I've mounted them on 44mag handguns and 45-70 rifles with no problems what so ever. They need to be mounted correctly like any scope or sight. Over torquing and/or mounting incorrectly can lead to problems. I can't picture what you mean by "the back eye piece looked like it was dropped of a ladder"? Before it fell apart or after? Pics? I can't make heads or tales out of your description of what happened. I doubt they sent you a demo or re-work. What do they say about all of this? They're the ones you should be talking to, not ranting on the internet first.

I suppose I can rant where and when I want
who are you the internet marshal
I mean what i said I could never get the optic to hold
and yes I did have it mounted correctly I to have had them of 44 mags and 45-70 rifles
and fired them with Ruger #1 loads not watered down loads so I do know what they are supposed to handle
I talked to them and they are sending another on if you would have read the post you would know that
So sorry you never had a problem with them but that doesn't mean that there aren't people that do sheriff
don't make any difference to me if you can't picture anything

now I gotta say this can't happen twice rite?
wrong
brand new out of the box fell apart again
the lense closest to the eye can't take the recoil of a 475 Linebaugh
the first shots grouped nice at 9 oclock 1"from bull and a touch low
no prob move it to the right 3 clicks and up 3
now on center but not quite high enough so up 3 more
now its just a bit to much down 2 but instead of 1/2"it drops to the bottom
of the paper and that lense is loose and almost looks like it was driven into the
tube body
well that enough for me my new Ultra Junk is going back not wasting anymore
ammo with this ***
not sure what they are doing different but something certainly aint working

imo the .475L and .454 are another world in recoil compared to 44mags, 45-70's etc. they are going to find weak optics sooner rather than later.

yes that is very apparent I believe I fired 7-8 rounds to find out
I hate to go with a scope but had no option

Ultra Dot makes a quality sight. I have a couple of them I used for years when I was shooting competition. They were the most common sight used by the better shooters. I never had any problems nor did I know anyone who did. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience but I never seen anyone who had anything bad to say about Ultra Dot. Curious to hear what the company does about your issues.

they replace the first one
and the second I asked for a refund and they
are giving it to me
yeah I have used them before
just to much for it on a 475L encore

Sound like a normal thing anymore..companies rush to get the product to the shelf and quality takes a back seat. Look at the gun industry as a whole. quality has dropped considerably esp when obama was in office.
Hate to hear the problems you had white eagle. hopefully the cabelas scope gets the job done

I never thought for a minute that the factory rings were going to hold even on a slide mount .45 auto and never mounted them on anything other than a .22 conversion unit . I have one on a .500 smith with many full power loads and never had a problem with it mounted in weigand rings. Those UD supplied rings ARE junk.
