Greetings Casting Brothers,

Just pulled the trigger on a Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39 and picked up dies and a case trimmer. I have an unbroken 8# jug of AA#9 on hand and was wondering if anyone was using this powder for 160-180 grain plain based bullets for this load.

Any responses welcome. Just want some dialogue before I buy more powder.

I use #9 in the 300 bo under a 165 [9.5grs] for about 1500 fps.
if you turn nothing else up that would be a decent starting point.

does that rifle have a 308 barrel, or can you shoot milsurp out of it?

I thought Junior1942 had a load for WC820 which is the same burn speed as #9. I haven't found it yet.
