I was casting bullets this A.M. and as I was casting Lyman's 452664 I was thinking how I seldom heard anything about this bullet. It is a really excellent design (250 gr RF) and I have shot it a good bit in my Ruger 5.5" Bisley Vaquero with both black powder and smokeless. It has a large, square grease groove that carries more than sufficient lube (Emmert's Home Mix) for Black Powder but also works well with Red Carnauba with smokeless powder. The meplat is sufficient for hunting deer, also.

I have recently acquired a couple of Taurus Raging Bulls in .454 Casull and will be trying the bullet in them, also. I also plan to load a few loads for my 625-6 and -8 in .45 Auto Rim.

If any of you have experience with this bullet I would be interested in your take on it.

I took advantage of the cool weather myself. I cast up a bunch of Lyman # 311644, they come out of the mould at 197grs. these are for my 1885 TH in 30-30Win. I managed a 3/4" group at 100 yds the other day, going out later today and give it another try

Doc;
That is excellent shooting. I have three Browning and Winchester High and Low walls:
Browning BPCR in 40/65 (shoots under an inch at 100 yards and nearly minute of angle to 600 yards with black powder and cast bullets).

Browning Creedmoor in 45/90 for those REALLY long range shots with black powder

Winchester .22 rimfire low wall that also shoots quite well.

Really nice rifles that SHOOT!

Dale53, I have 12 of them. In the lowwall I have 22lr, two 357mag, 223rem, and 260rem. In the highwall I have 30-30, 38-55, two 40-65, 45-70, and two 45-90. All of them are Browning's and Winchester's. I got two of the 40-65's and 45-90's so I can put a MVA scope on one of each.

Doc;
Have you seen my article on a "Browning Trigger Fix"? If not, write me direct and I'll show you how to get a near perfect 2 lb trigger on each of those fine rifles.
