I had a load for my 41 magnum using 5gr of RedDot I think. I can not find my notes I'm just going off of memory but does
that load sound right under a 210gr boolit

An old Alliant guide from 1995 that I happen to have close at hand lists 8.2 behind a 210 jacketed. 1225 fps, 34,300 psi.

Don't own a .41, so not a recommendation.

5 gr RD under a Lee TL 210 SWC nets right at 850 fps out of my Ruger 7 1/2" Bisley. Pretty accurate and very pleasant to shoot.

I load 6.8 grains of Red Dot for my .41 mag. It is incredibly accurate, and of course, fun to shoot.

Howdy Luckydawg,

For a plinking/fun load in the .41 Magnum, I run 6.5 grains of Green Dot under a Lyman semi-wadcutter boolit that drops at 219 grains, with my alloy, from my mold.

It's a joy to shoot in a 6 1/2-inch NM Blackhawk, is accurate, and rocks back with what seems to be about 1/3 the recoil of a full-house load. Never chronographed it, but I'm guessing it travels in the 925 FPS range.

If I were to substitute Red Dot in place of Green Dot -- and wished to maintain the same velocity -- I think I'd drop the charge weight a tad to compensate for the slightly faster burning powder.

Happy trails,
