Try posting under single shot rifles with a thread title something like "44 Rossi to 444 conversion? " Will get more interest.

Yes, if the Rossie design is capable.... but why?
I have a TC Contender carbine barrel that was originally 44 Mag, converted before I acquired it to 444 Marlin by a well-known TC guru... but I’d have preferred it in it’s original chamberings, to be honest.
The 44 Mag is a VERY capable round coming out of a lightweight carbine, and can get quite punishing on the shooter if pushed hard using heavy projectiles.

I’m curious why you are interested in the conversion and what you intend to use the rifle for?

I was looking for single shot 444 but haven't been able to find one, I have had a 45-70 in the past and loved shooting it for target and hunting and I just like big bore guns.

No, the SAAMI pressure rating for the 44 magnum is 36,000 PSI and the 444 Marlin is 42,000 PSI.

But the Rossi comes in .243, 7-08 and others that have higher pressure than the .444. Unless the .44 is built on the .410 frame I think you'll be ok?
