A friend texted me " beware the yeast of the Sadducees " this lead me to the question what is the yeast of the Sadducees?

My knee-jerk response was the law. As the day progressed I came to the realization that answer is to simpel. After all the law was given to us by God, so how could it be bad?

The law wasn't / isn't yes isn't (the Pharisees and Sadducees or alive and well today) the proublem was / is the way they used the law for profit. Not just monetary profit but power and controll

The law was given to us by a God who loved us,to protect and keep us safe and healthy not to controll us. it is our love for him that we seek out how he wants us to live.

Sounds an awful lot like our modern American Congress, doesn't it? Or at least a lot of them.

Either extreme can be bad, best to avoid extremes.

Moderation in all things, including moderation.

We should not be rigid and locked into a single view or belief.

We should be loving and forgiving. Not judgemental or putting others down for their belief's.

Not easy to do though.
