Found this gem on Ebay with a die and top punch I needed. A great shape Lyman 45. Well used but well cared for. I liked the original colors but after I boiled it clean, all the paint came off with my finger nail. Thinking fast I went to Ace and it was a horrid sick orange color or fire hydrant red. I went with red. It matches my Lee equipment and is my favorite color. Filled it with some Ben's Red and gave a few test runs. Works like a champ and I impressed at the super ease of lubing now. Every thing is tight with no slop. Only troubles during the restoration was I couldn't get the reservoir tube off. Tried everything including a blow torch and strap wrench. Someone else all ready marred it with vice grips but I just gave up and taped it off. I did polish out the marring decently and now it slides smoothly. Three more sizer dies/punches and I can kiss pan lubing good by.

PS: Don't knock my reloading room. I live in an apartment and we have a walk-in closet. Since I cant have the spare room as a man cave, I claimed the walk-in closet as my Harry Potter Man Cave/ Reloading room.

Sweet! I love those sizers. I have several of them. If you haven't already replaced the seal with a double-O ring one from Lyman, you might consider that if your brass one leaks much. But they are really good sizers and will last a lifetime if you aren't crunching huge boolits down to size in em.

I read about the leakage. I melted the lube and poured it in. It leaked when I first tightened on the pressure nut. After I let it cool for about 30 minutes then tried it. It ran just fine no leaks. This thing is all ready old. I have the original box and paper work. Not a collector, but I feel likes its a piece of history.

I started out with a Lyman 45 did the job but was real slow but worked with it for a few years and it did well, however my shooting schedule was beyond the ability for the poor old thing to keep up and I bought a bunch of commercial cast back in my IPSC days.
In the early 80's I finally sprung for a New Star bought out of the San Diego office and man did I kick myself for not doing it years sooner!
Now if your not doing a lot of shooting the old Lyman will get it done for you for a very long time but they tend to be a little fragile, so be gentle with it.
Like the paint job by the way.

Lots of sizer dies and top punches fer sale on here so keep an eye peeled fer deals.
Enjoy, good score

I ordered all the dies and top punches of midway, they were having a sale. I am going to have to open them up a thousand because I size to my throat diameter. I use the noe gas check seat and a wide selection of Lee push through size for crimping/sizing. The linkages look sturdy and strong enough though but this machine is also about twice my age and making quick work of lubing 9mm bullets. Wife is happy now because I am not in her kitchen. The final nail in the coffin was when i discovered i need to nose size the bullets for my 260 rem.
