Has anyone tried the Browning BPR .22 lr hp ammo. It jammed & misfired in my Nylon 66 AND my 581 bolt action. A friend brought over a Win 74 rifle with similar symptoms and the Win ammo he had looks exactly like this Browning ammo.
By the way all guns above ran fine with CCI,Rem,Aguila&Fed ammo.
The ammo looks normal except the hp and meplat are larger than normal.
Anyone else experience this ammo?

The only thing I have found that it feeds in is a single shot that you manually feed the round into the chamber. The nose is no designed with the semi and bolt /mag fed guns in mind.

Absolutely bottom-grade relabeled Winchester .22LR, made for the folks who trusted the various 'puff-piece' fantasy articles published in the American Rifleman & elsewhere.
Their marketing department figured they could make easy money by dragging the reputable name of "Browning" through the mud.

Yeah, I have the remains of a brick. Typical of the shortage produced junk during the last reign of terror. It’s not your guns.

My brother bought 2 bulk packs of Browning 22lr at Cabelas a couple months ago. I have nothing
good to say about it. We had several 22 rifles and handguns we wanted to shoot. We had jams in
Ruger auto pistol and in a Tube fed Marlin 60 and 10/22. That wasn't the main problem, not only
was it dirty and inaccurate, we had a very hi rate of misfires. Most went off on second try but we
had several down right duds.

Well, I'm sorry to hear this. Luckily I only got 200 rds of it.
Good thing we have .22 revolvers to use it up in.

It's sad that Winchester 22 ammo was great when I was growing up. Even the bargain price Wildcat was flawless.

I still have a brick of the old Wildcats. They are better than most of the junk made during the shortage, and they are 30years old.
Power points are my choice at the moment in my 1022 .don't see that browning stuff over here.

They run 100% in my Heritage Rough Rider SA revolver. Accuracy was ehh- I'll try again tomorrow. I'll drag out the Single Six and 999 Sportsman as well.
I too got the bulk packs from Cabela's and have had good performance with them. I have several semi-autos and it worked them all. I shoot the steel flip up targets and plates, accuracy was no worse than usual.

In the H&R Sportsman, they required some pressure to push into the chambers but they shot well. They won't even chamber in my flat top Single Six.
I will keep buying CCI Mini Mags whenever I find them.

We shot them all yesterday.
It was fun. Cuz tried them in his 10/22 and MK2 pistol and jamomatic symtoms occured.
The revolvers ate them up.

I'm glad to know this guys. I almost bought a brick the other day. Thanks for the info on feeding and accuracy issues.
