wasn’t sure where to put this. I have a Howa 30-06 in a plastic stock, that my new favorite load is beating me to death. I have had my right shoulder cut off, (yes off) and then reattached. the pocket of that shoulder is a bit on the tender side, so I am considering a recoil pad, which brings me to my question, Pachmeyer Decelerator vs a Limbsaver recoil pad.

I have seen the Limbsaver, and it is impressive, however, I have heard good things about the Pachmeyer pad, so I would like to buy just one, install it, and of course, be HAPPY!!!

limbsaver makes a better pad, hands down. some pachmyer pads are pretty good, but not as good as limbsaver and kickeze.

Never used a limbsaver but https://kickeezproducts.com/ are my preferred pad. That being said I have not used Pachmyer's for the past 15 years.

I had several people bring me rifles with Limbsaver pads that got Sticky sitting in there safe.
I mean, like Melted.
Probably from their cleaning oils or products.
I heard that Limbsaver has corrected the problem, But have not heard back from the people who had the sticky pads, and that were going to contact Limbsaver about a replacement

I had two of the limbsaver pads that were replaced under the recall because they started melting. Never put cleaning products on them or oiled them, and didn't do it to the replacement sets. One of the "new and improved" pads on a 30-06 melted into the carpet in my safe within 2-3 years and the other one on a shotgun seems fine so far. Didn't like the pad on the 30-06 so when the 2nd pad melted I found a replacement stock for it with a plastic buttplate. The 12ga is a 11/87 synthetic stock so if/when this replacement pad goes bad I will not be replacing it with another limbsaver pad.

The Limbsaver feels better to me.

In our shop limbsavers 2 to 1! Some like the looks of other pads but for max comfort we go to the limbsaver.

I had two Ruger #1Bs that were somewhat brutal, a 7mm RemMag and a 30/06 AI. I put a Limbsaver on both of them and never looked back.

I like the slip on Limbsaver for shooting the kickers on the benchrest. $20 @ wallyworld.
I like the Hogue grind to fit pad for permanent installations. They seem a bit softer than Pachmayar. I have seen Limbsavers melt also.

Agreed except it's been 25 years for me.
