I did a little trading today and ended up with some brass for my Swede, it is marked CA, I know it's commercial, anyone know who made it? It looks like good brass.

I also got 99 rounds of nos Herter's brass that was made in Sweden, probably Norma. Four of the boxes are complete but a little rough.

Ended up with over 200 pcs and all with the correct head size. It was a good trade for both, traded something we didn't for something we did.

I believe the CA Century Arms ammo was Norma.

You got a good haul. I got a bunch of Swede blanks that I pull the wooden bullets, tumble and reload. The unused powder is used to bring dead spots in my lawn to good effect. Unfortunately that brass will run out end of this year so I am always on the hunt for reloadable brass. I did buy some Hornady and have picked up a few PPU and S&B but always keep my eyes open.

If the CA brass is Norma it turned out better than expected. I almost don't want to use the Herter's brass but I don't need any more collectables ,it's worth more to use than look at.

After all it was made to be used. I agree, use it up!

Dutchman, that's the same as mine, the guy had loaded a few pieces that I pulled down but most looked unfired.

I was watching YouTube today, one fellow stated that there were factories in Sweden besides Norma that could have made Herter's brass. Herter's outsourced everything so who knows. I saw it on the net so now I really know that no one knows.

I also have some 32 acp nos Herter's brass that states that it is made in Finland.

I don't think it is really important who did it but it's fun to kick the can around.

The np on the primers stands for Norma projektefabrik or some such. I shot alot of it when M96s were $60! Great ammo.

Not knocking Norma because I do like Norma brass. The best brass I have been able to buy in the 6.5x55mm was Lapua and not Norma. I match prep every case I buy or pick up. The only brass that I have bought so far that did not need to be trimmed, primer pocket uniformed, and the flash hole reamed to uniform size has been Lapua. Norma comes close but usually falls a little short of being completely ready to load. My experience anyway, james

I wish Starline would make 6,5x55!

What I've heard is Starline is eventually going to start making a full line of rifle brass. They keep adding more, for an example they make the 6.5 Creedmoor. Here is what's new from them:

I have started using the Starline brass in .41 magnum, .45 AR, and .45 LC and I like it so far. Time will tell but so far, so good. james
