I have a S&W 25-2 in .45 acp that has large cylinder throats, .455" at the front but .456" for most of the throat. I saw that Midway had Remington .455" 250 grain bullets, so I bought some:

I anticipate loading them into .45 Auto Rim brass. Does anyone have experience with this bullet in .45 AR brass, or with the similar Hornady bullet in .45 AR brass:

I am thinking a mild load of Bullseye or 231 should work well.

You may need a custom expander plug, I needed one to load .456" in 45 Colt brass, standard dies may suffice, my Lee dies worked good enough.

I use those bullets in my S&W .45 ACP Hand Ejector Model of 1950 military with 4 grains of Bullseye for 700 fps.
I use Lee .455 Webley dies with a .45 ACP shell holder. You could do the same with Auto Rim brass with appropriate shell holder.

The hollow base .454-.456 size Winchester and Remington slugs are both useful in the older oversized S&W throats
