I have a 94 win with a 10" twist. I have been experimenting with the rcbs 150gc bullet. I have found semi decent loads in the 1700 to 2000+ fps range using imr4198, imr4895 and w748.
The load density from my calculations should be better using imr 4064, that is, more case fill. Anyone here tried it, and how were the results?
Yes, it is a 10" twist, 26" barrel. I fitted it.

I load the 165gr RD RNFP boolit in my brothers Marlin with 29gr of IMR4064
Shoots very well and does fill the case nicely.

IMR4064 does great in a 30-30. I've gone a low as 23 grains (slightly below 70% case fill) with good results-- higher loads should be fine.

I have used this load in my Marlin 336 with a J word 150gr RNSP and 35 gr imr4064 chrono's at average 2378 fps at muzzle. My notes also list 34gr same bullet @ 2274 fps. Accuracy approx 1.25 inches at 100 yds off bench (scoped rifle). Same warning be sure to work up to these levels, they may not be usable in your gun.

I have the 94 30-30 in the 1 in 12. It will put three touching holes @ 100 yd with the Lee 180 and 32 gr of AC 4064. It will almost do the same with imr 4350. You should be able to go up a few grains with the 150 gr boolit. With the 1 in 10 though, I am not sure about the accuracy if using a soft boolit, you would have to test. You may be able to WQ a Bruce B soft point to handle the twist & speed and still get expansion.

I don't know how you can get much more case fill than with 748, but IMR 4064 will work in the 30-30 no problem. I had good hunting accuracy with a 311-41 and 30 grains of 4064.
