Has anybody shot any wad type slugs (Lee in particular) out of an over bored smooth bore. The 835 suggested warning is not to shoot slugs out of the smooth bore. I am considering this to be factory rifled slugs like the Rem Slugger. Though, has anybody tried to shoot the Lee or Lyman wad slugs out of any of the over bored smooth bores.

I can't remember off hand, but I think the bore on the 835 is something like .775 which would be kinda sloppy for a rifled slug, but a wad slug or maybe a RB with a wad column underneath it might be somewhat safe and a big ? for any accuracy. I suppose the choke tube could play a big difference in accuracy. Has anybody shot them with the similar results to the general smooth bore performances of paper plate hits @ 75 yds.

Yes I have. You'll be fine as long as they're in a wad.

I shoot them out of a winchester sxp, however my bore is only .741"
I had my reservations as well before I started testing. Mine Work out great.
I found less choke the better though. The base of the wad expands to fill the barrel for a good bore seal but it seems very hard on the wad when it has to be choked back down. If you have an assortment of chokes try several of them and keep an eye out for your wads. Collect and compare them
