My Whelen was rebored from a 3006 with a 12 twist. I'm sure that will be great when I get a heavy bullet mold, but right now what I have is the NOE 180g FN.

I've only tried A2015 and got about 2-3in groups at 50y. I was fireforming my 06 brass. Rather then a bunch of trial and error, can you guys suggest some good starting points powder wise?

Thanks

It would be nice to know what your intensions for you load is. Paper, cheap plinking or hunting. Is your 35 Whelen a 12 twist? Try 13.0gr Unique up to 19.0gr Unique. Lower end for paper and the higher end for hunting. I'd guess the lower end will give you the best accuracy.

For lower end loads in my (~identical) .350 Rem Mag, in my experience Trail Boss was far superior to the traditional/typical powders for this sort of thing - group sizes ~1/2 that of a wide variety of other powders tested (Unique, SR4759, 800x, Red Dot, etc).

Have done mostly jacketed, but I did find that 180gr's were better than 158's.

I have very limited experience on the top end; but from everything I read, Reloader 15 is pretty close to optimum.
Alternate choices would perhaps be W748 & IMR3031.
