A friend has a CVA single shot in 35 Whelen. The factory J bullet ammo was to stout for his wife and not very accurate. After many loads with J bullets I finally got decent groups but only with near max loads. So I borrowed an NOE 250 gr fp gc mold and started playing. I ended up with a 1 1/2 in group at 100 yds with 21 gr IMR 4227, a load from Water's pet loads book. I got up to 24 gr before the groups started spreading out, which might have been me getting tired. I gave him 20 rounds of the 21 gr and his gun.
Now I'm going to try it all over again in my Ruger #1 and Rem 700. I didn't chronograph any of them but they were sure comfortable to shoot.

Sounds ready for her to try again.
That load will hunt I bet.
