There is an RCBS A2 on ebay that doesn't look like it's even been used. It has a nice buy it now price, but must be picked up by the buyer in California.

It must be a very late A2 since it does not have a top bushing. It seems they often bring about $50 less than the equivalent earlier A2s with the bushing.

Could be..... but in reality it doesn't make much sense since most users never remove the 1-1/2 bushing. I've been reloading for over 50+ years and think I removed the bushing once to experiment with some 12ga dies.

I believe the one without the bushing are cast iron not cast steel like the earlier ones

It is funny to me that that press remains a minor "rock star" even after being unavailable (or difficult to find anyway) for so many years. It's sought after today but 20 years ago or slightly more they were very much the cast away press as RCBS made it's mid 90's push for another Progressive to compete with Dillon and even Lee (yeah I know). Now they have upgrades to the Rock Chucker, The Summit and their third try in 25 years for Progressive acceptance. Oh well onward and upward.

The RCBS A2 has never been a cast away press. It has been THE premium press for most shooters until the RCBS A4 somewhat displaced it.
I suspect you do not form cases or swage case heads.

That might be the A3 which has a frame like an A2 but has a ram like the Rockchucker.

I believe the one without the bushing ate cast iron not cast steel like the earlier ones

There is an A for $600. At some point you have to realize it's a tool that you use. But then again I will never pay what people do for Hollywoods.
