Hurricane help

Anyone here ever cast any boolits in a hurricane? Looking for tips, bored out of my skull waiting for the party here on the Gulf Coast.

uhh nope.
I tried rigging down an oil field location once on the edge of a tornado.
but I would definitely stick to a 1 cavity mold and pressure pour in a hurricane.
and I would not stand down wind from the put.

there is some idiot reporting live from Naples Fl. right now.
if he wasn't standing behind their truck, they would be looking for him down the road.

I was hoping to this evening with a new Lyman .457 roundball mold but midway didn't get it out on time.

I'm bored out of my mind also, all my powder and primers are packed away watertight. Had to start drinking early...I'll try and behave.

I did! Had to retreat inside during the worst of it but my promelt was fired up for the first 2 days =). Got a nice pile of hg 50 wadcutters cast up before the flooding got to the patio. Stay safe out there and wear some glasses!

Cast a couple of thousand 148 grain wadcutters for .38 special back in 1982 on Okinawa during a 3 day Typhoon period.

Stay safe and dry. Hope there is no significant damage and injuries.

Well, we got enough breeze to keep me cool so I might as well put on the boots and get started. Anyone here ever danced with the Tinsel Fairy in a 70 mph cross wind?

I was using my Lee 20 lb as the storm approached, and picked up everything before the rain started. The problem is that I got distracted and forgot that my Lee pot was still cooling off outside, and only remembered after the deluge of rain had commenced.

I'll tell you, it is a strange and disconcerting site to see your beloved Lee pot half full of lead and half full of water :-\. I emptied the water, fired it up and let it dry out thoroughly, and it's fine, but it was nearly a hurricane victim!

Since I cast in the garage over a gas (propane) burner I'll cast in a hurricane or after one when the power is out. Something to think about - ladle casting has at least one advantage!

Not me, I had all my casting equipment put away and covered with a blue tarp when the eye of Irma went over.

Eye passed over me too and I passed gas. She began to rise desintigrate immediately. I am sometimes rude to unwelcome visitors.

When something threatens to interfere with high priority tasks use ALL tools at hand to promote a successful conclusion.
