Guys what are your thoughts on Elk grips on a 1911 I like the way they look but are they durable are they slippery please tell me about them

I would suggest that the amount, location and depth of bark would determine the answer to your question. They can vary from slick as any other smooth surface or as rough as tree bark. This is between you and the maker of the grips. BTW, lots of texture with curls and swirls is called "popcorn" and is my favorite style... more frequently found in Sambar stag, but occasionally on elk antler as well.

I have a set on a 1911. They look very nice. Sorry, not the best picture, but you get the idea. Also have them on a pair of RUger New Vaqueros, that I use in CAS. Never had a problem with them being slippery. 203632

Well I just ordered a set from Patrick Grashorn sent him a few Emails and talked to him on the phone a vary nice guy I think i will be happy with the set that I ordered from him
