After years of searching I finally got a "Wondersight" for my S+W 1917 revolter. Stole it actually, off Ebone. It attached fine and I'm really happy with the new sight picture. Haven't had a chance to shoot the ol'girl yet, but it may work out fine.

Stole it huh? Better watch out I don't call a cop.

Whatinell is a wonder sight?
I have a S&W 1917, '37 Brazil order, the barrel is still as good as it was 20 years ago, but somehow the sights have gone from ok to very fuzzy, really need to do something about the sights [or eyes?].
Where can I find info about the sight?
Thanks, Don

Drinks--a knats butt stretched over a fence post would be a sight. Wonder it don't bust.

This is a Wondersight. Last I heard this guy was getting around $45.00 plus s+h. I don't know if he's still in business or not. I got mine for $18.00. The only other one I saw recently went for over $40.00 on Ebay.

Interesting little critter, that. I have a couple S&W wheelers that could put such a thing to good use.

Thanks for jogging the old memory. I have seen that type of sight on older S&W revolvers at gun shows in the past. I have a model 1917 that could use one, considering it's present owner.

Best regards from Nevada duke.

I just contacted Mr. Evans via email and he quoted $29.95 a pop including postage. I'm ordering. If you're interested use the wapiti at peak dot org addy in the link. Regards, Woody

I also used the email link on the above web sight and now have one on the way at $29.95. Thanks to the folks that ran these down. I had heard they were still available, but had no luck running them down.

This new one will go on a primo 1931 vintage SMith 5" M&P. This pistol is very, very accurate with 38 Spl. target wadcutters, but the sights truly suck and are way off in terms of elevation.

When I get a little more flush, I will order a couple more and tuck them away.

Neat old bit of gear. Makes you want to run out and buy an old gun just to have an excuse to get one of these. Looks like he is trying to retire. It would be a shame to see these disappear off the market. Any one want a part time business?
