I'm a retired gunsmith in southern Arizona, built bolt rifles and 1911-pattern pistols, but never got into lever guns until a friend recently wanted work on his lever guns ... particularly a Winchester/Miroku 1886 in .45-70 on which we attached a Montana Vintage Arms tang sight. Without the valuable and informative information you 1886 guys posted, I'd have been lost in the woods! I just wanted to express my appreciation to the whole Leverguns blog members! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and love of the guns! (My buddy is now shooting his 1886 at 1000 yards ... I'll post his progress when I have photos.)
