i have a project on the subject of shotshells & trying to size 357max brass to fit in my mag cyls , i`ve sized em in a 358 boolit sizer die but they spring back to 3605 or just a tad too big .
i thought about annealing to make em softer , also sizing in a lee 356 die , for 13$ thats a cheap fix , just wondering if anyone has done this & what you used to neck the max brass down with.
more shot = deader snake!!!!

Just a weird thought...(What else would you expect from me?) In Europe and Australia they have a cartridge called the .222 Rimmed, or maybe they say 'Flanged'. I haven't checked the dimensions but I wonder if they could be blown out to form cases the way you want. I remember some gun writer in the late 60s was cutting of .223 cases to make stronger .38 Super brass, so there is some close relationship in sizes...

It looks like a 218 Bee die might do the trick.

30 carbine MIGHT work for you too

Midway lists .222 Rimmed brass. The guy trimming down the .223 to make strong "Super 9" brass was some Marine named Cooper, I believe. .357 ballistics out of his beloved 1911.
