I'm (Boaz) posting for Ronnie this morning . He was up all night , his church is being a host for a great number of folks from Arkansas headed to the areas needing help . They plan on taking in ones needing refuge . Pray for all concerned please .
In keeping with the whats happening I will repost what I put on the Chapel in another thread .

The Parable of the Good Samaritan
25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 He said to him, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”
27 So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.
28 And He said to him, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”
29 But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 Then Jesus answered and said: “A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.’ 36 So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?”
37 And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

The disaster in Texas and Louisiana provides us the opportunity to practice what Christ preached . Please pray daily for the hundreds of thousands this tragedy has affected . Give all aid you can , we are being called .

In this parable the one testing Christ answered his own question and Christ said ;

And he said, “He who showed mercy on him.”
Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

Lets go and do likewise . Lets love our neighbor

Amen! This, I think, says more about our Faith, when we show it, than anything else we can do. Folks we can help don't line up like we were all in the military, to be helped. They come to us at all sorts of times, often when it's inconvenient for us to take the time to help them out. Whether we help or not, says more about us than I believe we realize. It's simply stopping to help that makes so much difference sometimes. Ever stop to help someone with a flat tire? I did once. It turned out they were a couple of exotic "dancers" at a nudie club in Savannah. I got their tire changed. They didn't have a clue about what to do. When I left them, I just said, "God bless you two," and walked and drove off. I don't believe, from the look on their faces, that they'd been told that in a very long time. Don't have a clue what kind of impact it had on them, but it sure did strike them at the moment.

We can't always know who it is we're helping, or what they're thinking of our efforts. And we also don't get to see the final result of any efforts we make. All we CAN do is simply stop to help. The rest is up to those we help, and God. They have to work out the rest. I have a feeling that we all impact a LOT more folks than we think, and maybe especially these days, when it's "popular" to say the PC thing, whether we really mean it or not. Folks who always seem to answer straight and honestly, and sincerely, have a LOT more impact than I think they'll ever really know until we get before the Throne of Judgment. I'd venture to guess that we really only know about 30% of the results (if that?) of our efforts. But every thing we say and do has repercussions and echoes down the line in time. Let us all make those "echoes" good ones!
