Digging around my stuff and remembered I had this mold. I think it's from the late 1800's or early 1900's

Nice piece. Might be Smith & Wesson by the shape of the handles. Looks like it is a loading tool too?

I think it to prime the brass ? Maybe somebody with a book can give more info. It was purchased in a lot of black powder gear and lead a while ago.

It's one of the "Peanut Handle" moulds that Smith and Wesson used to include in their reloading kits. The hole and punch is a repriming station. IIRC, they were mostly made in .38 caliber.
I think Green Frog, who posts on here, knows about them. You might check with him. The kit came in a cardboard box and included a depriming punch and a seater/crimper.

Judging by the pics, that tool is in EXCELLENT condition for its age. The mold cavity looks pristine. Nice find!
