Looking to get a new mold..45 acp for bullseye 25 yard shooting. I have the now and I want to add another. I was thinking of the RCBS 2-Cavity Bullet Mold 45-201-SWC 45 Caliber.. Ive heard its a real shooter.

I'm not apposed to a accurate as well. Pretty new caster, started last year. I'm thinking Iron too

Maybe try thinking Mihec 68 in a 4 cavity brass. Mine is convertable to hollowpoint as well.

The H&G 68 gets my vote, but there are a great many 45 ACP shooters who are better than I who swear by the Lyman 452-460.

H&G 68 (200gr) or H&G 130 (185gr). Most people say the 68 is better at 50 yds. I would look at a 4 cavity mold. Just about twice as many boolits in the same amount of casting time.

Lot's of mold manufactures make a 68 clone.

Any good quality 68 clone will be accurate but the alloy and sizing will be more important.

I've shot the RCBS 45-201 for years. I used mostly clip-on wheelweights sized .452. RCBS makes a nice mold that is easy to cast with and produces good bullets quickly. I recently added a 4 cavity H&G 68 to my mold collection. You can't go wrong with any of the H&G 130 or 68 clones.

I have a very old 4 cav 452460 that is a sweet caster and shoots even better. Doesn't take long to knock out 1K with that mold and the Star.

That Mihec is a thing of beauty for sure..WOW, Doe it take long to ship? Where are they? IS it all that as far as casting? Never used Brass.

I think it depends on the gun. I have one that simply loves 230 gr round nose and shoots nice tight groups. I have another that favors the Magma 200gr SWC over the 68. I have others that shoot great with anything I run thru them.

So, is there a most accurate bullet? In my opinion I would have to say no.

I am in that boat. One gun that only likes hardball or a cast clone. Another that likes anything.
I am currently experimenting with 4 different 230 grain molds, 3 different 200 grain molds, a 185 grain mold, and a 155 grain mold.

For a SWC the RCBS 201 is my favorite. But my best reliable, accurate boolit is a 225 RN.

The 200 gn. H&G 68 is the most popular bullet in Bullseye competition. It is accurate and feeds reliably in the 1911. The Lyman 452460 is accurate as well. If you shoot much you will appreciate a 4 cavity down the road. I have iron, brass and aluminum molds and they all cast good bullets but each has its own personality. Aluminum gets up to temp. quicker but can get too hot when casting fast. Brass is fine but if you get it too hot the lead will solder to the corners. Brass seems to be the best in producing flat bases but getting the mold and sprue plate the the right temp. is tricky. Iron holds heat slower to get to temp. But will cast good bullets. I also recommend a 20 lb. pot. When everything is right you need to make bullets. Adding lead essentially means starting over. While the lead is melting the molds cool down.

For what it I worth , my SR 1911 loves the Lee 230 gr. TC . I PC the T/L design and shoot it over 4.5 gr. Of Red dot. - CASTER

I just picked up that mold to try. I cast up 200 of them and have them drying(tumble lube). I hope to load them tomorrow sometime and to shoot them early next week.

Like I think I mentioned I replaced my H&G 68 with the 200gr SWC Magma sells and it seems more accurate in my guns. I happen to have a very slightly used sizing lubricating die that I had lathesmith (Chris) custom make for me for that bullet. It has only run about 200 bullets thru it before I retired it.

My P14 Para like the H&G 130 over 4.8 great of 231.

There virtually isn't a .45 bullet that won't shoot good with a little load work. Some shoot better than others but you won't notice any difference inside of 50 yards. The H&G 68 style is the most common. I am currently shooting a scary accurate 160 grain saeco SWC in my bullseye guns in front of clays.

I just did a batch with my old lee 2 cav. Easiest darn cast ever. I'm not a fan of bevel base however soooooooo. I wish my Noe's would cast and drop that easy. I'm obviously doing something wrong? The lee is so delicate and I swear I just open it and the boolits just fall out. My now I seem to have to pound on it I swear
