View Full Version : Heads up for case forming using PPU blanks

PPU manufactures long blanks with a faux bullet in a number of calibers.

Given some careful research and testing you might be able to use this brass for forming cases that need to be longer than factory brass.
There was a shooter that said he was making .40-60 Maynard cases using the .303 long blanks. He maybe ok with that low pressure round. If these cases are strong enough in the head you could also make .30-40 Krag brass and regular .303 brass from them.

The 7.62X39 might make 7.62X45 cases.
The .223 might make .222 Rem Mag and 6X47 Rem.

So far no joy on the 7.62 x39 to 7.62x45 but I'm still trying!

Do they actually sell blank brass, unloaded? Seems like that would be ideal for x45.
