Lets see what your boss shoots! I'll start.
My wife of 30 yrs likes these three.
H&R 999 Sportsman for farm patrol
S&W Shield 9mm for the car/carry
S&W m67-1 .38 Special
She shoots all three really well but likes her revolvers best!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170812/42ffc532deed52973cbf7fed412c121b.jpg

My wife of 48+ years: Favorite to shoot is her Kimber pro carry II in 45ACP. For concealed carry either her .40 Shield or her .38 S&W 642. Occasionally her .380 LCP that she really is not fond of or my 9mm Rohrbaugh that she really likes. We always have a 1911 handy in various places in the house for security and a short 12ga pump in the bedroom. She has shot nearly everything I own. If I come home late &/or drunk I'm knocking on the neighbors door :)

What is funny is, Every time I would buy a New Handgun, I would say, Honey, I bought You a New Gun.
She would shoot it once, and say, it is too big, or Kicks too much.
So, I would just have to go down and buy her Another one.
She finally got Smart, and started buying he own Handguns and Shotguns.

My wife is more of a plinker than a real shooter but does accompany me to the range now and then to keep her hand in. She's shot everything in the safe but her two 'personal' handguns are a mid-60s Ruger 'Standard' .22 that was the first pistol she ever fired and a 4" Colt Diamondback .38 that was a birthday present many, many years ago.

Put my wife firmly in the plinker/toy category. her preferred piece at the range is the beretta neos 22lr I picked up for her. She's come around to linking my handloads in the 38spec and a 9mm walther but I'm happy she just wants to go with. I just tell her if push comes to shove make sure she empties the magazine. a dozen little holes is still better than a whistle.

SWMBO in my life has been hanging around for nearly 42 years, she was a Bailiff/Transportation Deputy from 89'-99' and carried a Gen 2 Glock 19 for most of that. These days the Glock 19 stays on her Nightstand, a Gen 3 Glock 26 usually travels in the Center Console on the Dodge and a Ruger LCR in 9mm lives in her Pistol-Packin' Mama Leather Purse.

My wife's "dowry" when we got hitched was her Dad gave her his Colt Anaconda 44 Mag, factory ported, 6-inch barrel (might be 5 inches). She is a tack driver with 44 Special loads in it, and carries full power loads when hiking. Truth is, she's a better shot than I am with it. Yes, I behave myself very very much!

My wife's favorite "Because it feels good in my hand" is a Bersa 380. She can't hit a wall (or the ceiling) in a confined room but boy, does she have fun. I guess it's more of a little noise maker that a defensive weapon, but better something than nothing.

That's my disposable piece I keep in the car :D, nothing wrong with it at all and in the case of emergency the cops can keep it as far as I'm concerned.

The best part of SWMBO shooting is when I need reloading components she tells me to put them on her credit card. I had her buy a box of defense loads for her 45ACP once, then told her I can load them for less than $.10 per round. She goes to the range with me a couple times a month and shoots lots of rounds :)

My girlfriend has both a colt detective special and a s&w chiefs special , I've coveted them both for a long long time now .

The colt was her dad's and as far as I know is still as new in the box . The Smith gets semi regular exercise , sometimes I'm even allowed to shoot it .

Mine has a Ruger Mk III 22/45 with a red dot sight on top. She can put 10 rounds into a quarter at 20 feet. (Or an eyeball)

She also has a little Phoenix Arms HP-22 10 shot .22lr semi auto in the car. She does not carry concealed. But the little car gun is there if she feels the need. Mag is loaded, chamber is empty. So rack the action once and go to it. Spare mag and a 100 round plastic box of ammo is in the case with the gun. It all fits snug and out of sight in a pocket in her drivers side door.

As of Aug 1st ND residents no longer need a CC permit to carry concealed.
But mostly we don't see the need up here. People for the most part are polite, well mannered and law abiding. Still better to have a car gun and not need it than need it and not have it.

My wife of 58 years has a Smith #49 in her night stand & it stays there most of the time. Occasionally she'll fire a few rounds @ our range or will carry it in a fanny pack when she walks (1 CCI shot cartridge up 1st followed by 4 SWCs). Close in she shoots well enough.

Mine loves the Glock 19 and 42 but also has a S&W M&P 15-22 in Muddy Girl and a Ruger SR22 in raspberry.
With the G19 she'd put 5 in the heart and one in the gonads. She always drops one shot.

My wife has a 2" Nickel Plated S&W Model 10-7, she doesn't shoot it all that much but she is very proficient with it. She had a bad experience with the H-A motorcycle gang some years ago, and vows to always be prepared now and forever.

My wife doesn't carry as a rule, when her and daughter go on day trips she may put a S&W 32
snubbie in her bag. She has a Rem 1100Ltw 20g and a Marlin 39 Mounty but hasn't hunted for
several years. She is a crack shot with a m34 Kit Gun.

My wife of forty years, deer hunts with a 45LC BH. Has taken two deer with it, in Michigan. She didn't care for the portability, nor the recoil, of 12 gauge 1100 with slugs. That was the only other alternative, for area we hunted.

Her carry gun is a 642 with CT laser grips.

She has shot everything I own, except maybe the 338 Winchester Magnum.

She's not a fan of semi-auto pistols, mainly because of difficulty racking the slides. Though, she hasn't any trouble with two of my latest acquisitions. The P320 Sig, which she shot for the first time, last week and enjoyed.......and a Springfield Armory XD-9 Model 2 Sub Compact.....that we may take out back, either today or tomorrow.

My wife has never had much interest in shooting. I have had her tag along a few times and when I did get her to shoot, her favorite was a 1970's Ruger Super Bearcat that I picked up a few years ago. I have tried to get her to shoot 38s and 0mm but she just doesn't like the noise and recoil - but she does affectionately refer to the Bearcat as her "putt putt gun".

My wifes favorite was a 4 3/4" standard Ruger mk1 semi auto 22. Her security six was by the bed and used around the house when the Mk1 wasn't enough. Here carry gun was a 36 air weight in 38spl. Her favorite rifle was an Ar15 in 223 that had a flat top match upper and service rifle upper fitted to it. This she used to compete in NRA high power matches. They are still here waiting to be a part of the kids inheritance unfortunately She was taken home in march 2002. She didn't care for most semi auto pistols My 1911s just weren't her thing ( even the 38 spl wadcutter gun ) She shot with me or against me in bowling pins and High power rifle matches.

08-13-2017, 01:21 PM
Mrs Bookworm tried the semi autos, but doesn't like them. I got her an LCP several years ago, she hates it. " The trigger is too long."
She has a point - the LCP is difficult to shoot well. It's very small, the trigger pull is forever long, and it bites when it fires.

She likes a Taurus M85, a mid-80's all steel model I purchased new. She shoots it very well too.

Then she saw my S&W 640-1. I haven't been able to use it since.

Mine likes her Colt Light Commander in .45 but her favorite plinking gun was a 1903 Colt Auto (.32ACP). She also has a Python that she used to shoot a lot. She would like a Colt SAA in .32-20 but the one she fell in love with was an original and was over $3K. She won't shoot anything that is not a Colt. :)

My wife is ex-Army and I recently came home with a nicely tricked out .223 AR and red dot sight. She hefted it tried the sight and said, "Did you get you one?" So I got another one. She carries a 642 with CT laser. She shot SASS for 10 years and scored at the top level in the state. She shot 2 Blackhawks in .45 Colt, one 4 5/8 and one
7 1/2; those she considers hers. I made the mistake of letting her handle a new Livesey's Bisley Blackhawk 4 5/8 flat top I traded for in .44 special and I may have to kiss that one good by, too. Still, it's very nice to have a wife who even knows the difference between .44 special and magnum. GF

Mine usually carries her Sig P6 or Ruger SP101 DOA but today we went to a range (women shoot free on friday's at Shooters world in Phoenix) and she wanted to try the S&W Shield and Glock 43? 9mm's - she actually like the Glock single stack - she dislikes the Glock double stacks - was not impressed with the S&W Shield - but she gets to take anything I have so gets a lot of choices.

But the reason she wanted to check out the smaller guns was because of all the Antifi/SJW idiots that have come out of the woodwork for body carry. Surprised me - I didn't think it had gotten that bad - she even joined up a womens shooting group.

My wife and I have been together for a little over 40 years and I still haven't given up on getting her to go with me. But I did manage to get my daughter to go and she loves it. Started her out at 7 yards with my Ruger MK II 5" Bull Barrel target model and she literally shot the bullseye out in 50 rounds. Then I bumped her up to my Model 14 and wadcutters and she kept them all within a 3" circle. As a final round I had her shoot my CZ 75B SA and she kept all of them in a 5" circle. I was pretty darn proud and the range master was pretty amazed. This was at an indoor range and the noise didn't rattle her at all, and she followed all my safety instructions to a T. Can't wait to take her again, kind of hoping this will finally nudge my wife into giving it a try.

Ok, pardon my density but what does SWMBO stand for?

My wife doesn't shoot anymore. She was a 4H competitor when a kid. One of my daughters competes in .22 lr benchrest with me. My mother carries a M49 in her purse. My grandmother was a squirrel hunter and used a single shot .22. My great grandmother carried a Colt 1917 .45 ACP revolver.
