Im looking for a good powder for cast 7.62x25 loads. Im casting a 93 grain lee .311 using WW. Im looking for a powder that can be loaded at lower velocities for a basic plinking load.

Anyone load & cast for the tok?

5'ish of Bullseye or Hodgdon HP38 or Ramshot ZIP
5.5'ish of Unique or Hodgdon Universal or Win 231

That will put you in the 1200fps range with medium pressures and clean burn from a 4" tube.

I load Accurate 31-087B in my TOK and CZ52 with 5.2-5.3 grains of Bullseye.

The 5 grain load frequently recommended would not cycle either pistol. This one does.

I actually tried some 231, but was unsure about the results i got. I used about 4.6 grains of 231, and just out of curiosity i placed a fired case in the chamber, and it sticks pretty hard (had to ram it out w cleaning rod) Is this anything to worry about? i wasn't sure if maybe i was making over pressured rounds, since the only data i found on that bullet was on makarov.com, and it said 4.2 was max, but 4.2 wouldn't even eject the casing. around 4.6 would.

Nothing I tried worked better than Blue dot.
