Good Cheer

Picked up an ancient though unused Pietta 1851.
By past experience they can be... projects.
Had to steel wool and polish burrs off the lands.
Needs a new wedge.
The chambers are .366.
The bore is .357.
The groove is .372.
Grooves are about .06 wide.
OK, sounds like a Pietta so far. Reckon a .375 reamer will suffice. Gotta lap the forcing cone.
The wood to brass fit needs work.
The brass to steel fit needs work.
The arbor is so tight in the barrel it doesn't want to go together or come apart.
The twin alignment holes need a mallet to seat the pins.
And amazingly, the timing is perfect.
Come spring time this may have become the artsy aged piece I've been threatening to do.
